A Waco Welcome – For New Students and Families!

 

Wednesday, August 19 or Thursday, August 20 (based on your Move-in day)

3:00 – 5:00 p.m. at the Mark & Paula Hurd Welcome Center

Doors open at 3:00 p.m.

 

Following Move-in, students and families are invited to “A Waco Welcome” event at the Mark & Paula Hurd Welcome Center. This casual come-and-go event will showcase many local eateries, community partners, and businesses that make Waco special! Sample tasty treats and refreshments and interact with various storeowners and businesses, all while filling a welcome bag with goodies and coupons.

Families and guests should plan to say “goodbye” following this event as students transition into student-only welcome activities.

Students do NOT need to register for this event. Family members and guests will register online. More information regarding registration will be sent by email, or you may register HERE.

Early Move-in

Students (and their guests) who participate in unassisted Early Move-in from Sunday, August 16 through Tuesday, August 18 are encouraged to attend the Waco Welcome event on Wednesday, August 19.

All students living in a Residential College or Living-Learning Program (LLP) will have a student-only welcome dinner with their residential community on Wednesday evening. Click HERE for a list of dinners.

Wednesday Move2BU

Students (and their guests) who participate in Move2BU on Wednesday, August 19 are encouraged to attend the Waco Welcome event on Wednesday, August 19.

All students living in a Residential College or Living-Learning Program (LLP) will have a student-only welcome dinner with their residential community on Wednesday evening. Click HERE for a list of dinners.

Thursday Move2BU

Students (and their guests) who participate in Move2BU on Thursday, August 20 are encouraged to attend the Waco Welcome event on Thursday, August 20.

Welcome Week activities for students officially kick off Thursday at 7:30 p.m. with Welcome Week Roundup on Fountain Mall.

All students assigned a Wednesday Move2BU

All students living in a Residential College or Living-Learning Program (LLP) are initially assigned a Move2BU date of Wednesday, August 19. Each of these communities will host a student-only welcome dinner on Wednesday evening. Click HERE for a list of dinners.

These students and families should plan to say “goodbye” before students’ community dinners on Wednesday.

Moving in Thursday

Students (and their guests) who move in Thursday are encouraged to attend the Waco Welcome event that afternoon. Welcome Week activities for students officially kick off Thursday at 7:30 p.m. with Welcome Week Roundup on Fountain Mall.

These students and families should plan to say “goodbye” prior to the start of Welcome Week on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.

Early Move-in before Thursday

Students (and their guests) who participate in unassisted Early Move-in from Sunday, August 16 through Tuesday, August 18 are encouraged to attend the Waco Welcome event on Wednesday, August 19.

These students and families are encouraged to say “goodbye” after A Waco Welcome.

Welcome Week activities for students officially kick off Thursday at 7:30 p.m. with Welcome Week Roundup on Fountain Mall.

Student vehicles with registered Parking Permits may be parked in their permitted lots.

Limited Visitor Parking is available across campus. Visitors on campus for Move-in and A Waco Welcome are encouraged to park at the Ferrell Center and utilize the free shuttle service.

Free shuttle service will be available on both Wednesday and Thursday. Visitors are encouraged to park at the Ferrell Center and utilize the shuttle.

8:30 a.m. - 8:30 p.m. -- Shuttles will run continuously from the Ferrell Center to the Speight BUS Stop.

2:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. -- Shuttles will run continuously from the Ferrell Center to the Dutton Parking Garage Circle, located at the southeast entrance to the Dutton Garage off University Parks Drive.
