Tradition Leader

Be part of the Welcome Week team that helps shape the official beginning of each student's experience as a Baylor Bear! Tradition Leaders provide programmatic and logistical support, as well as guidance and encouragement to Welcome Week Leaders. This role is best suited for students who have previously served as a Welcome Week Leader or in another leadership role.

1. Who can apply?

Any undergraduate student who will graduate in Decemeber 2023 or later and who has served in a leadership position with NSP in the past.

2. When is the deadline to apply?

The tradition leader application is due on Feb. 19th at 11:59pm.

3. What dates and I committing to if I want to be a Tradition Leader?

4. What does the interview process entail?

Step 1: Submit your online application

Step 2: Sign up for your in-person interview

Step 3: Prepare your presentation as a part of your in-person interview

5. What is the prompt for the interview presentation?

As part of your application process, you will participate in a 20-25 minute in-person interview with NSP. We invite you to prepare a 6-8 minute presentation that highlights and authentically expresses your desire to serve with NSP during Welcome Week. The format of your presentation is completely up to you!

Please address the following prompt during your interview:

Recognizing that we often learn more about ourselves and the world around us through experiencing a significant experience, like being a Welcome Week Leader, please share with us what you learned about yourself in your previous experience(s) with NSP (how that shaped you, challenges you faced, joys you experienced, etc).

  • What specifically about the experience was instrumental in informing your own self-understanding?
  • How would you describe who you are and who you are becoming in this season?
  • How you have applied lessons learned to your life since then, and what you would bring to a new team?
  • How do you plan on giving back to Welcome Week this upcoming year?
